Our Board Certified Periodontist offers comprehensive periodontal surgery and periodontal services specifically related to gum therapies including gum recession surgery, gummy smile surgery (crown lengthening, gingevectomy and lip repositioning), gum grafts, tissue grafts and cosmetic tissue re-contouring. DIAGNOSTIC PROTOCOL The possibility of regenerating or reducing hard (bone) and soft (gum) tissues in the mouth is now a reality, through the application of advanced techniques and superior materials. In the past if a patient had suffered bone loss or receding gums or vice-versa, there was very little which could be done to reverse this condition. However, we now have the capability to regrow and reduce bone and soft tissues using several evidence-based techniques that are safe, and effective. Comprehensive diagnostic testing is performed (including hi-resolution photos and 3D CT imaging) to ensure long-term success can be achieved through soft tissue therapies. TREATMENT PROTOCOL A conservative and non-invasive approach via preventative hygiene, root planing and regular dental examinations is always the ultimate aim, however there are occasions when unhealthy tissues cannot be restored. Advanced techniques and superior materials can now be used to treat irreversible damage caused by periodontal disease, tooth brush abrasion or hyperplasia (over growth). These treatment considerations include: soft tissue grafts, laser therapies, crown lengthening procedures, regenerative procedures, pocket reduction (flap) procedures and lip reposition. |
